Internship at SoftMark
A digital grading platform deployed across schools in Singapore
SoftMark is a productionized digital grading platform deployed at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and secondary schools across Singapore. I built it as a Software Engineering Intern at the AI Centre for Educational Technologies.
Two contributions I’m particularly proud of:
- A trie-based algorithm layered over open-source OCR to detect question numbering on scanned answer sheets, which doubled teacher productivity by automatically filtering out unattempted questions.
- An intuitive 2D grid allocation component that replaced a linear menu, enabling fair distribution of grading workload among multiple graders.
